Jasper County Sheriff Candidates Forum | Events
The following is a press release from the Young Professionals of Jasper County:
The Young Professionals of Jasper County will be hosting a Sheriff Candidates Q&A Forum tomorrow evening. The event, which begins at 6 p.m., will take place at Bay Springs City Hall. There are currently five residents seeking the position of Jasper County Sheriff in this special election and each have been invited to attend the event. Four of the five candidates will be participating and addressing the public.
The purpose of the event is to educate the residents of Jasper County before they visit the poles on Nov. 6. Over the past year, Jasper County has experienced a huge number of young professionals moving into the area as a result of the growth of local industries. These new residents have not had an opportunity to form their own opinions regarding these candidates, and they are voters who want to make an informed voting decision.
Again, each candidate has been invited to attend and speak on their behalf. These gentleman will provide an introduction of themselves and their platform. Afterwards, they will each be asked a series of questions by a moderator. All guests in attendance will have an opportunity to submit a question for consideration. The candidates will remain on the premises at the end of the forum to meet and mingle with those in attendance. At that time, those in attendance will have an opportunity to speak directly to the candidates regarding any concerns they may have.
An event like this one has never taken place in Bay Springs before; on behalf of the Young Professionals of Jasper County, we invite you to join us on Thursday evening and to be a part of "something special" in our community.
